Eskimo Deficit

I've acquired quite the Eskimo deficit while working on my senior project. So here's something in the mean time to make it up to you.

If you'd like to see my BFA show it's at the Woodbury Art Museum at the University Mall in Orem, Utah. It's somewhere on the 2nd floor in between the Nordstrom and The Gap. The Museum is open Mon-Fri 11am-7pm and closed Sat & Sun. My exhibit will be up from Feb 22nd - March 11th. If you'd like to come to the opening reception it's Feb 22nd 6pm -8pm. Just in case you'd like to come.

It's not as cool as the icon. This is back when I was convinced that this was a she. But the prospects of the child being a boy are just as fun or funny.

I love Portal! Probably the most satisfying game I've playing in a long time. I haven't fallen in love with a game since Sons of Liberty.

The end of summer. . .

Here's a work in progress. Done as a quick study. Probably four hours of work from a photo. Hardly any likeness. Way hardly any likeness. Drawing problems abound. I know I know. . . get off my case. But I was just doing a colour study. Or course I tweaked and exaggerated. With these poorly designed blue stripes. No but where's there's one. . . there's more, right?



The other from the summer figure drawing. It's nice, but I'm losing my taste from nupastel. Too sticky.

sketchbook blunders for late July

Super busy recently. I actually should be doing working on the Cougar's engine right now but I've decided to update this blog. Lucky you! Starting with Church drawings. Top right is probably the nicest drawing I've ever done in my opinion. Though my opinion is easily swayed. As I have fallen in with the ruinous powers (nudge nudge)
So it appears that the forces of Chaos will become a permanent fixture here. Done on Friday the thirteenth. That web address on there I might visit some time. It was supposed to be a good cure all or something.

Church. Testimony meeting gets to draw fast. Unless they get wordy. Which the better drawings were probably the wordier people. And a nice braid.
So I was looking through my OLD drawings. Like the 1998 Japanimationesque drawings. I sure tried really hard. Anyway, I had all this scrap paper in there with like. . . one tiny drawing on it. So I took all that paper out and put in into my "draw on this paper" pile. So I was basically taking those tiny lame head and making them 'current'. It's cool because I knew what I was trying to do.

This head is darling! I don't think I meant to draw kids but I think that they look like them. And ruinous powers again.
Choas Gwen-chan. It is very unfortunate that GWEN comes out the day school starts. I'm so doomed this semester. I guess it's sisters of battleesque more than. . . bleh`

As much as I'd love piles of dead Tyranids, I'm quite tired of this painting. It's taken me way to long. I've really got to do these simpler and faster. Besides, these marines (likeness is property of Games Workshop) look so pristine. This was done pixel-painterly. Someday soon I'll break out the oils again. I've been very low on supplies since the pleinair trips.

sketchbook stalemate: A month of Sundays

Haven't been drawing like I did in the past. Like minor temperature difference or something cause it to hard to draw. My ideas have been stagnant for a while. However; I'm pulling out of it. Something big definitely coming. Thank you for being patient.
