The end of summer. . .

Here's a work in progress. Done as a quick study. Probably four hours of work from a photo. Hardly any likeness. Way hardly any likeness. Drawing problems abound. I know I know. . . get off my case. But I was just doing a colour study. Or course I tweaked and exaggerated. With these poorly designed blue stripes. No but where's there's one. . . there's more, right?

The other from the summer figure drawing. It's nice, but I'm losing my taste from nupastel. Too sticky.

Oviraptor Day

More figure drawing from the side campaign. Once again, sorry about the photo quality. I'm actually rather pleased with how this turned out.

a photo that I kinda liked. All I do now is go around and look at cast shadows. Too intriguing.

Saltopus Day

You get figure drawings today. All in the last week or so. Once again, bad photos are bad. Not so wonderful drawings either. *sigh

Saint Patrick's Day

Thursday Nights Drawing. This is the hour long pose. A hard one at that. I'm not allowed to draw were the light makes sense. So I'm standing on the surface on the sun drawing the model here. So squinting and shaking my head here is in order. It wasn't took long I was in a room full of amputees trying to grab live fish off the floor in hospital gowns. How come that movie didn't have a Jacob or a Ladder in it.

Close up of the face. I love how if the area got complicated I just turned it into an nebulous smoke screen mass. It's like I was pinned down by their machine gunner and had to get out of the line of sight.

Ten minute gesture. Everything I touch turns into a Spacekimo.
5-10 minute gesture(?). The legs were crossed so it got confusing.
5-10 minute gesture. I thought this one was a goner. However; I slowed down and looked and measured. I don't know what happened. But whatever it was it was awesome. Vector thrusting paint strokes.

Xiaosaurus Day

Today we had a Civil war reenactor for the model. It was pretty rad. He let me hold his gun. I didn't shoot it though. Because, that's unlawful and it wasn't loaded.

I liking it. Some "aha" moments on this one. Some photoshop tweak. I'll make you look for 'em.

Radically yours,

Sher ner ner ner ner~!

Marcusaurus Day

Nupastel on newsprint. Tried to use "paint strokes". Which I think was successful. However the piece itself I'm not particularly impressed with it anymore. Weird proportional flaws, you know the drill.

Feb 25,

Here's pictures from last week. All from life. The painting I think is two hours. The drawings are 15 minutes to an hour respectively.

Feburary 12, Plesiosaurus Day

I got in a figure drawing session today. I haven't done and actual figure "drawings" for a while. Usually I'm painting. No light on this model so the form is kinda fudged. But I like it. Foreshortening is like the funnest thing you can do. Measure a lot and you'll get the proportions to snap.
